Entone's acquisition by Amino Technologies

Amino (UK) acquires Entone (US) consolidating the pay TV market

Amino Technologies has completed its acquisition of Entone, a provider of hybrid TV and connected home solutions.

“This transformational acquisition broadens our capabilities and market reach globally across IPTV, hybrid broadcast and a range of connected home solutions.” - Donald McGarva, Chief Executive of Amino

Why?: The acquisition gives Amino access to critical markets, including parts of China, Europe, Latin America and the United States.
The combined companies could become a force in the Tier 2 and Tier 3 service provider space.
Both companies have been fine-tuning their hybrid distribution models that allow operators to leverage their connections in the home into a broadband/OTT and pay TV play.

History:

This is aligned with their recent acquisition of cloud-TV platform provider Booxmedia as part of Amino's transition to cloud-based IP-driven multiscreen entertainment delivery.

Entone’s investors include Coral Group, Menlo Venture Right and Scale Venture Partners.
Based in Cupertino, Entone has been around since 2000 and has raised some $24 million in funding. It hasn’t been to that well since its Series B round, a $14.5 million infusion, in 2008.

Amino, meanwhile, also today announced unaudited results for the six month period ended May 31, including year-on-year revenue growth of 9% and EBITDA growth of 34%, before exceptional items.
Stay tuned.
